Disney has been leading the push for a Blu-Ray takeover in the home movie market. Last month the company made history by releasing its popular ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ as a Blu-Ray set with a DVD copy, offering no DVD-only alternatives. Now the folks at Disney are taking it one step further and trying to encourage Blu-Ray sales by quite simply offering cheaper Blu-Rays.
AfterDawn reports that Disney, Pixar and Amazon are teaming up to offer some popular titles at some very reasonable prices. Fans can now purchase Disney Pixar’s ‘Up’ in a 4-disc Blu-Ray set for only $19.99 (this includes a DVD and digital copy) through Amazon.com, down signicantly from the original MSRP of $45. Additionally, ‘Monsters Inc’ can now be purchased for only $23, down from the $41 MSRP.
Disney and Pixar are also offering an extra $10 off if you purchase another Blu-Ray from a selection of Disney and Pixar films.
