Nintendo has always been a guy thing, right? Not necessarily. The tides they are a turnin.’ Today’s game systems come equipped with all sorts of girl-friendly titles, featuring characters like Hannah Montana and Alex Russo, and now the Jonas Brothers are set to appear in Nintendo DS form as well.
GamersHell is reporting that the rumors of a JoBros video game have been confirmed. According to the article, the game will follow the format of the televsion show, featuring the brothers as their fictional TV likenesses as they “try to find a balance between their rockstar world and ordinary lives.”
Choose between Kevin, Joe and Nick, ane explore familiar locations such as the firehouse and school. Their friends Macy and Stella are also featured in the game, which is being released by Disney Interactive Studios.
Now if they could just incorporate the brothers into the next Street Fighter game, that would be something…
Jonas Brothers fans rejoice! ABC News reports that Disney is renewing the popular tween sitcom ‘Jonas’ for a second season. The show, which portrays brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick as fictionalized versions of themselves, has proved to be a hit among key demographics and will return in 2010.
Production will likely begin in February with new episodes airing in the months that follow. Season 2 will follow the brothers as they embark on a summer vacation in Los Angeles and find themselves landing gigs in show business.
“These guys are the superstars of their generation,” said Gary Marsh, Disney Channels Worldwide entertainment president. “We had the opportunity to extend our relationship with them, which we did.”
In addition to ‘Jonas,’ the Disney Channel has also renewed the band’s short-form reality show ‘Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream’ for a second season. Filming has already begun for a premier in early 2010.
Disney has hired two new executive producers for the sitcom, to replace Michael Curtis and Roger S.H. Schulman. The second season will be executive produced by Lester Lewis (The Office) and director Paul Hoen, who has shot nine Disney Channel films.
Just so you know, Demi Lovato took to the Twittersphere today to clear up the rumors that she and Joe Jonas are an item. Recently the two of them have been seen together quite a bit, leaving many fans to speculate that Demi and Joe are like, you know, more than friends or whatever. But alas, no! The two were just hanging out, filming the Camp Rock sequel and not putting their tongues in each other’s mouths.
To clear up any misunderstandings, Demi tweeted the following:
“There’s been a lot of rumors lately that I’m dating one of my best friends Joe. I can promise my entire career that I am not. It’s unfortunate that some people out there are so desperate for attention that they have to make up gossip to keep their site alive…We’ve NEVER dated. He’s incredible, but we don’t have feelings for each other in that way. I love you guys, and I wouldn’t lie about that.”
So there you go, all you Jonas Brothers fans…Joe is still available (as far as we know), and your dreams of marrying him may still come true (but probably not). But as for the rumors that Scrooge McDuck is dating Paris Hilton, we still believe those to be true.
Just Jared Jr. reports that the Jonas Brothers (of Jonas Brothers fame) are planning to take part in Stevie Wonder’s House Full of Toys benefit concert this December. According to Just Jared:
Held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, House Full of Toys is held by Stevie Wonder to invite concertgoers to bring an unwrapped gift of joy. The toys will then be donated to children, families and organizations in need.
So to recap, the concert will feature the Jonas Brothers (not toys) helping to provide toys (not to be confused with the Jonas Brothers) to needy children. But if you want to get tickets, you’d better run to Ticketmaster and get yours like RIGHT NOW…because they’re only on sale until the 5th of this month.
Oh, and legendary musician Stevie Wonder will be there too, like you really care. = )
Is Nick Jonas leaving the Jonas Brothers? Say it ain’t so! We know he is in fact working on a solo record (Nick Jonas and the Administration), which according to E! Online was started about six months ago. But what does this mean for the Jonas Brothers as a band? Well, before you go hurling yourself off of Niagara Falls screaming “I no longer want to live!” it looks as though the band is still in tact.
The bros posted on their official website that “The Jonas Brothers are NOT breaking up!”and “We are ALL excited about this project AND what we are doing TOGETHER!” and “We plan to make music together for as long as we can.”
So you see? Capitalizing key words is FUN! To recap: Nick has a SOLO ALBUM coming out, the Jonas BROTHERS are still a BAND, and Tiffany Thornton still isn’t answering my FAN MAIL! So the universe makes sense once again.
And that’s the full scoop, coming from me, a source close to the band…and by “close,” I mean that I once saw them at the mall in Sherman Oaks while trying to buy batteries. Their security guards are much bigger in real life. That is all.
Having trouble differentiating your Nicks from your Joes? I know I’ve had that problem…well fortunately, we have Chelsea Staub to the rescue. As costar on the brothers’ popular Disney Channel sitcom “Jonas,” Chelsea spends a lot of time with the boys and knows them about as you well as you wish you could. So how does she tell them apart?
Nick is the youngest. He is 17, and he’s definitely the brains behind the band. He’s the little brother, but he’s in charge of it all and he writes pretty much all of the music. He definitely has “it”, whatever “it” is, Nick’s got it. He plays drums and keyboard and guitar and writes and does all of it well. So he’s definitely the musical one in that family.
Joe is the middle brother. And he’s just the entertainer. He’s a goofball on and off set. He’s constantly pulling pranks and getting us into trouble and he’s great when he’s on stage. He really sells it.
Kevin is the oldest. He should be a salesman. He’s really easy to talk to, always dresses to the nines, and is definitely the manager of the band. He keeps everybody in check.
Okay, I was WAY off. I thought the oldest was Alvin.
According to Hissip, the Jonas Brothers are interested in tackling some Spanish language material…after all, they’ve already covered so many bases with rock, pop, and even rap. Perhaps musica latina is the next obvious step…followed by polka and eventually grindcore (you KNOW you’d love to see the Jonas Brothers with Dethklok).
So who would the brothers Jonas like to collaborate with in the world of Latin music? None other than Shakira, it seems. Kevin said to Hissip:
We’d like to do a song with someone like Shakira and other Spanish-speaking artists. That would be really interesting.
Of course, if her hips indeed don’t lie, Shakira may be a little bit caliente for the virgnity-praising JoBros. = )
The Jonas Brothers have released a brand new video on their official YouTube channel, but it’s not quite what you’re used to. With “Bounce,” the brothers (Nick and Joe specifically) show off their goofier side, along with friend and fellow Disney costar Demi Lovato (whose dancing alone is well worth sitting through the video). Although the repetitive 80s synth bassline gets a little annoying after a while, you have to admire the whole carefree absurdity of the presentation. Listen to this song a few times and you may find yourself shouting “Do the ham and cheese!” for the rest of the day. If you do, God help you…
Joe Jonas has apparently begun a relationship with his Camp Rock costar Demi Lovato, at least according to CBS:
The Disney sensations grew close after appearing in the movie together and they are scheduled to share a movie set again when Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam goes before cameras.
The article goes on to say that two were recently seen getting friendly at a Toronto restaurant, while on a double date with Joe’s older brother Kevin and Kevin’s fiancee Danielle Deleasa.
So are they a couple or aren’t they? A source tells CBS that “they’re more than just friends,” but it may be too early to tell. Of course, being the girlfriend of a Jonas brother has its trials and tribulations: there are Paparazzi to contend with, conflicting schedules, and of course legions of screaming tween fans who would tear you limb from limb just to touch the sleeve of a Jonas brother. On that note, we wish Demi and Joe all the best…just don’t forget your riot gear.
