Today, November 23rd, is Miley Cyrus’s 17th birthday. It seems like only yesterday she was just starting out on Hannah Montana, and look at her now: several hit albums, a new movie on the way, a Sex and the City cameo, concert tours, photo shoots, interviews, international super-stardom and even a stalker or two.
So happy birthday, Miley. Enjoy your cake and don’t forget the little guys.
A quick Google News search for Miley Cyrus today yields several results from frustrated bloggers and news sources. Apparently, Miley Cyrus is NOT a fan of the Twilight series, including the new, just-opened film “New Moon.” And apparently, some people think Miley is out of line to judge a movie she hasn’t seen.
“I’ve never seen it and nor will I ever,” Miley said in a recent radio interview. “I don’t believe in it. “I don’t like vampires. … I don’t like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night. I don’t like it.” She went on to say, “I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t like the shirts. I don’t like any of it.”
So apparently, as the world is aglow with New Moon fever today, not everybody is on board. Miley admits that the anti-Twilight sentiment is a lonely road for a teenage girl to travel. “I feel really lame because everyone’s, like, so excited,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Don’t even talk about it.’”
But she’s not completely alone. Selena Gomez also recently expressed her indifference toward the Twilight series. Selena said on The Bonnie Hunt Show, “I don’t watch them,” adding, “Sorry, I feel bad … even though I am a teenager.”
Nevertheless, ‘Twilight: New Moon’ opens today, and you can bet it will be a smash hit.
They grow up so fast. Once the perky little Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus is now taking on a decidedly more grown-up role. Based on the bestseller by Nicholas Sparks (of ‘The Notebook’ fame), ‘The Last Song’ features Miley as the frustrated offspring of a divorced mother and father, sent to spend the summer with the dad she barely knows. It’s a Nicholas Sparks story, so you can bet there will be plenty of emotion and some profound life lessons, as well as attractive people making out on a beach (seemingly a staple of Sparks films).
Anyway, you can now check out the official trailer for the film, which also stars Greg Kinnear and Liam Hemsworth. It hits theaters in April, so you’ll have to be patient, but you can bet it will be a huge hit.
The Internet is abuzz with rumors about the sad, untimely fate of Disney celebrity and pop superstar Miley Cyrus, star of Hannah Montana and icon to so many tween girls.
But the thing is…she’s not actually dead. Everyone can take a deep breath and rest easy, because there is no validity to the bizarre and seemingly random rumor. Miley is on tour and as healthy as an ox. These types of rumors tend to make their way across the Internet from time to time…celebrities once rumored to be dead include Sinbad, Natalie Portman and Steve from Blues Clues. It’s hard to say how these rumors get started, but it’s worth nothing that according to some sources including Examiner.com, Miley actually was in a car accident a few days ago, but was uninjured. That may be the source of the rumor.
So don’t believe everything you hear. Miley is fine, Walt Disney did not freeze his head, and Buzz Lightyear is still just a toy (not a real star commander).
Miley Cyrus…you know she’s very talented when it comes to singing, acting and juggling two identities, but what about dating?
Apparently not so much. Miley told ContactMusic that dating is not exactly her forte. “Oh, I’m not really good at dating,” she said. “The whole game often ends with a broken heart. And I really know how much a broken heart hurts. I wouldn’t do that to anyone.”
She went on to say, “It’s frustrating. Whenever I want to be alone with a boy the paparazzi follow us. Sometimes I would like to wear a wig – like Hannah Montana. Then I’d have a more private life for sure.“
So who is Miley dating now? She insists that “there’s no dude” and that she doesn’t have time for a serious relationship, but she has recently been romantically linked with 19-year-old actor Liam Hemsworth. Previously she dated model Justin Gatson and singer/actor Nick Jonas, of Jonas Brothers fame.
The nominations for the People’s Choice Awards have officially been announced, and the news is very good for Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment.
Miley and Emily, who star as best friends on Disney’s popular Hannah Montana series, are both nominated for favorite breakout movie actress, which interestingly pits the two young starlets against one another. Still, as they say, it’s an honor just to be nominated (but who are we kidding?). Also nominated in this category are Anna Kendrick, Ginnifer Goodwin and Zoe Saldana.
Demi Lovato, who rose from total obscurity to become one of Disney’s fastest rising stars with hugely successful acting and music careers, is nominated for favorite breakout artist. Demi has some really tough competition though, as she’s going up against Adam Lambert and Kris Allen from American Idol, as well as Britain’s Got Talent finalist and Internet sensation Susan Boyle, and the ever-popular Lady Gaga.
The People’s Choice Awards will air January 6th and will be hosted by Queen Latifah. So get to to the website now and vote for your favorite Disney stars.
Miley Cyrus is perhaps not the Jay-Z fan you may believe her to be. Despite giving a nod to him in her latest hit “Party in the USA,” Miley confessed in an interview that “I’ve never heard a Jay-Z song.” But wait! If she’s never heard a Jay-Z song, they why give the man a shout-out?
“I don’t know, I didn’t write the song, so I have no idea,” she went on to say. The song was actually written by Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly and Jessica Cornish. “Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn’t write it and … I didn’t expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do, and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best.”
Miley also confessed that the hit song is “not even my style of music.” But before you scream DIVA! Miley also had this to say: “I’m really blessed for it to have done as well as it has. Totally blessed. God has definitely put me in an amazing position with amazing people.”
So there you have it. It’s not Miley’s style of music, apparently, but she’ll just have to live with it because the Disney Channel doesn’t care for death metal.
Poor Miley Cyrus has been taking a lot of heat lately. Sure, I know she did the whole pole dance thing, and the provocative photos in various states of undress, and the topless Vanity Fair shoot, and there was that whole thing where she pretended to be floating away in a hot air balloon but turned out to be hiding in an attic (I think that was her), but did she really deserve to be voted worst role model? If Miley is #1, then I’m sure Chris Brown is a close second. He’s almost as bad as Miley, right?
Well it’s tragic indeed, but apparently Miley is okay with all of that. Ms. Cyrus has gone on the record and stated her personal feelings about being idolized:
“If you look at me as a role model I agree with it. If you look at me as an idol, I don’t agree.
“An idol for me is someone that you want to replicate. You want to be them.
“I don’t wish that on anyone, to lose what they have personally, because that’s when your spark goes.”
So don’t idolize Miley. If you need somebody to idolize, idolize Chad Dylan Cooper. He doesn’t mind at all.
First Lady Michelle Obama had some very important official business to attend to on Tuesday night, on behalf of her two most important constituents, her daughters Sasha and Malia. The Celebrity Kids Examiner reports that Mrs. Obama (wife of President Barack Obama, for those of you who have been living in a cave) took her children to see Miley Cyrus in concert at the Verizon Center, though I’m guessing that it was probably a very tasteful affair and did not involve the first lady entering any mosh pits. Everyone knows that she only moshes at Slayer concerts.
No word on whether the Obama girls got to meet Miley, but they did get an exclusive box and a night out with mom, and really what more do you need?
Miley Cyrus, who some of you may know from a little television show called “Hannah Montana,” has a score to settle with the popular social network known as Twitter. Apparently, Ms. Cyrus tweeted herself into total isolation during her time in the Twittersphere, and now she is fighting back.
“I think that everyone should leave Twitter,” she told Chicago radio station B96. “I think Twitter should just be banned from this universe.”
“All I did was lay in bed on my computer and sit there and eat ice cream late at night,” she went to on to say. “You don’t end up living your life and you end up saying things that really is no one else’s business. And I’m not a big fan of the Internet anymore. I don’t really go online.”
So there you have it, kids. Twitter bad, living life good. Miley actually makes a very good point. I’m a fan of Twitter myself, but I’ve noticed that it really is an addiction for some people. Why spend hours chatting about Joe Jonas’s “hot” new haircut when you could be outside finding a hottie of your own? Take a lesson from Miley’s stalker: did he sit on Twitter all day talking about how sexy Miley is? NO! He went outside and took action, following his dream and chasing her halfway across the country.
..okay, bad example.
VERY bad example….actually, you know what, kids? Just stick with Twitter. Twitter is good.
